I think the Fire made one really good decision and one really bad one in this whole thing.

The good one, which I think is forgotten by many, comes from the fact that Brandon and Dan were not paid members of the Fire organization. Instead, they were fans, which is more important, a truer and more fundamental part of the team than anyone other than the most dedicated of players. But, there is a risk run when fans become integrated seamlessly into the fabric of a club, which I think has happened at clubs such as Boca Juniors, and I both understand and support the decision of Andrew Hauptman in making sure that the Fire stay clear of that possibility before it is even a real threat.

But where does he get off demanding that the Ring of Fire sessions become open? Huh? Just screw off, Drew. - Matth

Well I read the last entry first. Let me go back and take back my praise. Still fire for life just bitter. Without the fans the Fire are nothing, I love the play on the field, but the section is what brought me in... - el tiger

I think it is ignorant to consider inducting section 8 as opposed to fallen comrades. The Idea I have heard was they will be number 8 on the jerseys. Thats enough for me. Dan Perry was a great guy who touched so many people I think it is very appropriate. Brandon I can't say I have known. Dan I worked with for the rights of Colombian workers who were being killed. So I think it is a great honor. I think the intial thing is weak, sorry if I come off strong but. I think it is another reason why I will be fire for life.... - el tiger
