At the last home match against New York, those of you standing in 117/118, as well as those throughout the stadium, may have recieved a large flag given to 10,000 of the fans attending the match. Working, with the assistance of Best Buy, the ISA was able to coordinate the design, manufacturing and distribution of flags stadiumwide for this important final regular season contest.
While originally intended to be waved by the crowd before kickoff en masse as a powerfully inspiring visual to the players as the match commenced -- weather and other factors conspired to defeat the intent of the project. However, many new fans all over the stadium now have a flag to bring to each game from now on and continue waving as a show of their support.
Many new fans may be looking at the flag design and wonder where the chosen imagery came from and what it means.

...at the very least that might explain the way things are going.
While our complete and utter ineptitude against Dallas is enough reason for disgust (completely winless since 2005 and winless in Dallas since 1999), it's only a symptom of a much more worrying problem -- our faltering defense of our home.

“Yo si le voy, le voy a Chikago!”
For those new to Section 8 the last few seasons, the pulsating rhythms, constant jumping, and perpetual flag-waving of Sector Latino are integral to the flavor of the Harlem End as a whole. Their new location in the front portion of 117 is a product of their alliance with Ultras Red-Side, who occupies the center portion of the same section, and whom work together to establish and maintain the beat of support on match days. Their songs (mostly in Spanish) have begun to fully integrate themselves with the standards making it now difficult to imagine a Section 8 without a Sector Latino.

While if you were to mention the word "tifo" to a typical sideliner Fire fan, you're still likely to get blank stares or questions about your DVR, there has been a building awareness in the stadium that on important matchdays, there's usually something big going on before kickoff in the Harlem End. Home Openers, league matches with rivals, playoffs, cup finals -- they're all occasions to break out the good stuff and show the players on the field that the entire stadium stands behind them, to a one.
