Trip Information

Around 50 Fire fans have already confirmed they will be traveling to New York for the Fire's game at the Meadowlands against the Red Bulls (and Juan Carlos Osorio!) on Sunday, May 25th. Why not join us for what looks like it'll be a great holiday weekend trip? Flights are still available for around $200.

Read on for more information.

Hotel

Hotel accomodations will be handled on an individual basis. Some may choose to stay in Newark to be closest to Giants Stadium, or some may choose to pay a little more and stay in Manhattan for sightseeing reasons. Either way, visiting the best New York has to offer will be easily accessible to everyone, depending on how much time they plan to stay.

Match Ticket

Match ticket is $20.00 available for purchase online at the store. The only way to get tickets with the group is to buy them online. The store does accept both credit cards and PayPal. The tickets may be picked up at the will call window at Giants Stadium based on your name and amount of tickets purchased.

Public Transportation to Giants Stadium

There is no public transportation from Newark Penn Station to Giants Stadium. The only Public Transportation to the venue is via bus. The bus leaves from Port Authority bus station (It's on 42nd St. in Manhattan). Enter at the South wing at 40th St. and 8th Ave. and go to the NJ Transit ticket windows in the far back (up on a small platform). Ask for "round trip tickets to Giants Stadium for the soccer match", to be specific. This is important because they may give you tickets to the arena or worse. Also, be sure to ask what gate it leaves from because they'll never volunteer the info. Buses usually start leaving about 2 hours before the match and and return immediately afterwards. Should be $9 round trip and take about 20 minutes door to door. Those S8OT'ers who did this last year should also post any other additional info./details based on their experiences.

For those who plan on flying and staying in Newark, the only realistic way of getting to Giants stadium via public transportation is taking the NJ transit from Newark Penn Station to the Secaucus station (just before it enters NY), then hailing or calling for a cab to the stadium, which is only 3-4 miles away. We will try to get more details on this as soon as we can.

Parking/Stadium Info:

To those driving, get to Giants Stadium 3 hours before kickoff and parking is free, otherwise it's $10.00.

Tailgating Info

Several fans plan to get to Giants Stadium early enough to set up a tailgate. Just look for the lone Fire flag while entering the parking lot. There will be a few cases of cheap beer available, but BYOB is also welcomed. Please donate a few dollars to help offset the cost of food, condiments and beer.
