It's time to take over Columbus again, and turn it into Firehouse East. The Chicago Fire will take on the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium on July 5th, and Section 8 Chicago are offering discounted bus & game ticket packages to the game for a limited time.

  • $99 Overnight trip on the bus, hotel room and match ticket included
  • $40 Quick return bus trip. $40 price for a limited time only. Match ticket included.

Be sure to snap up your tickets at the Section 8 store as soon as possible: these deals won't last. The Fire have been dominating on the road, and you'll regret missing out as several hundred Fire fans turn Crew Stadium into a home game for the Fire.

Is it $99 there and $40 back? Or a one time fee of $99 for ticket, bus and hotel?

Tom Dunmore

The $99 and $40 deals are completely separate. The first is for the bus to and from the game, including game ticket and overnight stay in a hotel. The second is a bus to and from the game, including game ticket and returning shortly after the game. Hope that clears it up.

do are tickets come in the mail or do we pick them up at the box office?

Just purchased tickets for my daughter and I. Jut the bus ride and game ticket. This will be our first time with S8!

I can't remember the hotel, but it's right by the stadium. The itinerary is slightly in flux, but the $40 deal will leave around 6:30 AM from Toyota Park. Federal law requires roughly 8 hours rest if a driver goes a certain number of miles. Pain in the butt.

The overnight bus will be able to leave a couple hours later because the drivers will be spending the night with the people.

My apologies that the details are still a bit in flux, but we haven't run an overnight bus in a couple of years.

Where do we pick up our tickets once we've ordered them?

Ben
June 05, 2008

Tickets will be available at our pregame tailgate. If it gets close to the time to enter and some people haven't picked them up yet we'll make sure they get put at the Columbus Will Call which stays open after kickoff.

I'll be getting two same day bus tickets for myself and my brother...however, we'll need a ride to TP from the northside in the AM before the bus leaves, and a ride back from TP when the bus comes back that night (AM)...if anyone can help, let me know. Gracias

@ Soccer John..

hate to break it to you, but this is only a piece of advice from futebol fan to futebol fan...i dont think this would be a perfect for a, father daughter thing. all im trying to say is, there are going to be cuss words, fights, drunk people, frustration and further drunk people. just a tip in advanced. they will be trying to create the best atmosphere possible there which include, flares, smoke bombs, flags, banners and more...

peace !

Hey, Thanks for the advice. We will be ok! Our last Fire game we got stuck next to a whole section of Rapids fans and endured almost as much. They were not as rowdy as the Fire fans are but either way expletives were exchanged and gestures endured. I do appreciate the heads up but we expected that atmosphere. We are comfortable as we know Fire fans sitck with Fire fans.

Hopefully a bus full of them!

I would love to go to this but I have no reliable transportation to get to Toyota Park at 7AM and no transportation back to Chicago from Toyota Park.

Ben
June 24, 2008

The overnight bus will be leaving from The Globe (and stopping at Toyota Park). The other buses will make a quick stop at Midway if necessary. Public Transporters unite!

Perhaps we can help you set up a ride?

Freddy
June 25, 2008

That would be very much appreciated. If the $40 bus can leave from Globe I'm all set to go!

Ben
June 30, 2008

We'll be booking the rooms later in the week. Just show up and sleep! You might be in with people you don't know depending on how many are in your group.

Freddy

Alright, my ticket is ordered. As of right now what time is the $40 bus expecting to leave from Toyota park?

Ben
July 02, 2008

7AM from Toyota Park. That's when the bus leaves so be there early. We're still working with the bus company about a stop at Midway but it's 99%.
