An article on the front page of today's Daily Southtown addresses the current security situation involving Section 8 and concerning all Fire Fans. The article is written by Kim Janssen, a reporter who has reported on S8 and Fire fan culture in the past, and has stood with S8 on a number of occasions. READ THE ARTICLE HERE The ISA would like to take the time to correct a few inaccuracies in the article, listed below.
• The ISA officially frowns on the smuggling of pyro into the stadium. We continue to work toward an above-board and organised solution that will be safer and more beneficial to both Fire fans and the club while keeping us at the leading edge of support domestically and by the worldwide standard to which we hold ourselves. • To the ISA's knowledge, there have never been any flares lit in Toyota Park, and certainly none in Section 8. The difference between a "flare" and a "smoke" or "smoke bomb" is substantial. • Neither Section 8 nor the ISA have membership. Supporters' clubs that are part of the ISA choose to enact their membership schemes individually and independently. The ISA board continues to work with the club, the stadium, and the village toward providing the best possible experience for Fire fans to support their club.
